HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 12

Requesting the Governor and all governmental entities, including state agencies, county agencies, municipal agencies and school boards, to expedite the sale of surplus real property.

Whereas, The return of surplus property to the private sector will improve the property tax base; and

Whereas, The return of the property to the private sector will decrease unemployment; and
Whereas, The sale of the properties will reduce costs for the governmental entity that owns the property; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the Governor and all governmental entities, including all state agencies, county agencies, municipal agencies and school boards, are hereby requested to expedite the sale of surplus real property; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Governor and all state and local governmental agencies with surplus real property.
